First of all: Most of the runaway room tigers reappear after a short time, so there is no reason to panic. Nevertheless, you should of course take some measures to find your cat again. The first step is to thoroughly search the apartment and the surrounding area. Maybe the missing person was just hiding - cats are very well versed in making themselves invisible.

Cat run away: the first measures

After the apartment and the immediate area have been searched for the escaped free pass, you can expand the search radius. Bring your neighbors on board if possible. Maybe someone saw something. Tip: If you are looking for your miez outside, take an object with you that makes familiar noises for your velvet paw - such as a pack of treats or a cat toy that she particularly likes. Your cat may react better to familiar noises than to calls. In any case, you should also pick up the phone and contact the local animal shelter. There is a possibility that your velvet paw has been found and handed in there.

Profile increases the chances: Many eyes see more

If the first searches are unsuccessful, you should think about profiles. You can create one quickly and easily on your computer. Your request ("MISSING"), name and description of the cat and your telephone number should be included. It is also particularly important to have a photo that clearly shows your kitty. If all attempts are unsuccessful, the call to the police still remains - many finders of a stray cat bring this first to the law enforcement officers.

Prevention tip: In the best case, you have your cats chipped - or they still have a tattoo in your ear. If a chipped or tattooed cat has escaped and is found, a veterinarian can clearly determine who owns the velvet paw.
